I was not really satisfied with the control panel that was on my Gorf when I purchased it. Most of the instructions on the left side of the CP were worn off and there were several nicks in the metal that were somewhat sharp. I watched ebay for several months for a replacement CP and bid on several "new" replacement CPs but they always ended up going for well over $100 and I didn't think a remanufactured CP was worth that much. Then I stumbled upon an auction for an original control panel that while not perfect does have all of the art in tact. I made a bid and won. When I received the CP I was not very pleased with the shape of the joystick, buttons, harness, etc. that were attached to it, it looks as though the joystick mechanism had sat in water for quite a while. I wasn't too worried though since my original stuff was in pretty good shape. I started the disassembly process to run into a significant snag, the Torx security screws that hold the plastic handle to the joystick shaft were seriously corroded on both sticks. After a couple trips to the local hardware store I finally had enough tools to drill out and remove the old rusty screws. If anybody wants to know the screws in Gorf, Tron, Satan's Hollow, etc. are 10-32 x 3/8" Torx security screws. After getting all of the pieces separated and picking the best parts from both units I cleaned all of the components and reassembled the control panel. I am pretty happy with the final result, the joystick feels a little more secure and you can at least read the panel. See picture below. Rebuilt Gorf CP
